This was to mark the 81st anniversary of the
British 6th
Airborne Division landing in the area. Among the men who took part there were many who had fought in the Battle of Arnhem and were
killed in March 1945.
Gerrit has been doing this for over 25 years, and was honoured and thrilled his successors participated too.
In the past, many other regimental organisations and associations have attended this event but attendance has wained over the years.
It is occasions like this that Remember The XIth is determined continue to provide a moment to remember
these men who also fell for our freedom. The people present, including the family of a glider pilot, Mrs.
Selina
Hardie, greatly appreciated thlaying of a wreath and holding a short ceremony.
